Client Need:

Management wanted to be certain that appraisers were using fair
and consistent criteria in evaluating employees — and that uniformly
high standards of performance were applied throughout the
organization.

Our Solution:

We designed a calibration procedure specifically appropriate for
Churchill Downs. We then facilitated a series of calibration meetings
over a period of three years.

Successful Result:

Performance appraisal ratings are consistent across the company,
including ratings of employees in distant racetracks. Through our
coaching, Churchill Downs is now able to continue the calibration
sessions themselves without the need for outside help.
