Federated Department Stores was about to transition every one of their stores to become the new Macy’s, Inc. But they needed a consistent company-wide discipline process that stressed personal responsibility and that supported the company’s change in culture.
We worked with a group of senior HR leaders from all over the company to hammer out a set of disciplinary policies and procedures that would be effective for a retail environment. We used the Discipline Without Punishment® performance improvement system as the foundation for the company’s new discipline system.
The new disciplinary policies and procedures were successfully implemented in almost 1000 stores.
